Pretty good for your first. I like the vanishing point right on down to the horizon. I think I would bring the black slider up in histogram adjustment just a bit to get more detail in the trees. Though this way creates some really interesting shadows in the snow.
Jim, it looks like you could have designed this for a Twilight Zone episode. It is stark and mysterious, somewhat "danger ahead" material. The shadows make it even more awesome. Very well done.
Cows are going to like this one I hate to tell you Jim Bobtail.
I just love the shadows and the rows going away to who knows where. For some reason this makes me think of the Holocaust and creates sadness. Congratulations good friend. Have a great weekend. Faved by the way
I love everything about this image Jim ~ from the starkness of the trees & their shadows to the depth of that lonely path. B/W was a perfect choice & sets the mood here ~ one of sadness & loneliness. Excellent work + faves.
Jim, this B&W image creates a certain, hard to define, mood. The eyes are lead to the horizon and are not lead away by (coloured) fringe. Very good first B&W image.

excellent symmetry and perspective and even without their foliage and fruit they look stunning! ...especially if you photograph them from the perfect angle which you have done here! great shot!

I love it! Beautiful shapes of the branches and their shadows in the snow. The B&W is just perfect for this photo, ads to the light/shadow play. Very well done!
Add another big thumbs-up from me. The extreme perspective and undefinable location give this a very abstract and ominous vibe. I also appreciate that you used all of the dynamic range possible - the image just pops for it. Kudos on a job well done.
Good subject for your first black and white. I think it's all been said, but I wanted you to know that for once I'm really taken with a black and white!

That's one mighty straight line running through that orchard Jim. :o)
I know many people like bw Jim but I prefer colour unless the image is really grotty. The blue sky would work so well against the browns of those cropped trees
