I don't know that there was a storm coming or going, but Andros Island is by far the largest landmass in the area, so the cooler air coming off the water hits the warmer land, and clouds are made. It's pretty amazing.
When approaching in a boat, from very far away, you can tell how close you are by the clouds before the land is even visible.
