June, Unless you were intentionally wanting it out of focus, you're better off shooting from farther away, which will give you greater depth of field. Then you could crop it to this size, and the detail would be much improved.

Good morning everyone! Well Doug, the focal point was on the center of the flower which I thought was in good focus, perhaps I was wrong. I shall try what you are suggesting though!

The colours are glorious. I don’t think it’s out of focus but the sharpness would probably be improved by using a smaller aperture. The depth of focus would definitely improve with a smaller aperture. Love the red lights in the centre.

However did I miss this beauty JuneBug? I am sooooo glad that I found it now though :)...the color is stunning as is the center of any hibiscus. Aren't they fascinating to photograph? My pink one are now in bloom and are as big as small dinner plates. Thanks for sharing this beauty with us :~)
