The sepia tones nicely add to the overall feel I get from viewing this. And thankfully you have captured some nice detail in the foreground to balance out the brilliance of the sun's light. 'Mood' seems to be my operative word for the week, but, this image does convey one. Quite strongly to me, as this jumped out at me, even in thumbnail size.
I like this picture too... but I think that it would be better if you just snapped it a little more to the left, avoiding those bush branches.. they are somehow distracting the overall view. Maybe it would be interesting if you could have avoided the shore all together... just water and... ya know..... and maybe not... dunno. *shrug* All in all, not bad ;)
Wow this is really awesome, some people were standing around my computer and happened to get a glance of it, they were really impressed! its a great capture ;) what camera did you use?
This is a very nice 'moody' kind of shot, I like it!...The sun's reflection on the water attracts your eyes to the horizon..I would have either left the bush out altogether or darkened it so it looked more like a silhouette.
....Well Done....
Thanks very much for the comments guys!
I had the original version where the branches were pretty much silhouetted, but I felt that it drew too much attention to the foreground so I decided to lighten them up a bit and draw the focus towards the actual sunset. I might upload a different, cropped version and see how that one does? Oh, and I used my mom's 3.5M Digital Camera =P ...I haven't gotten into photography enough to invest in anything of my own yet ... it's just a bit of a hobby.
this is gorgeous, with the faint shadow of the mountains in the background and the colour is beautiful, vancouver always seems to put a smile on my face, i love that place.
Peace:)
