What a wonderful capture of a wonderful tree. I take it the farmer did not plant it himself ? lol
Your wonderful talent for creating a mood shines through this image.
Several of my photos are available for purchase in larger format at Shutterpoint, and some are also available in high quality framed prints at http://djholmes.imagekind.com/
I just got this in the VB & had to pop over here to tell you what a magnificent shot I thought this was ! Moody & brooding & very Hitchcock... I loved it & I faved it too. :oD
"Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile" .... mygallery
Wow, Mick, this is a stunner!! This shot just screams atmosphere! The mood is just outstanding...the ominous skies play well with the lonesome tree in the background. Right into the favs it goes!!
Sorry to all...I haven't been commenting as much as I would like to lately. I'm a 9 to 5er again (actually more like 8:15 to 7:30 these days!!) Don't worry, I still see all of your wonderful posts, if only for a second.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

wow I love this one. That sky is so threatning I love it. I can almost smell the rain about to come speeding out of that cloud. The tree looks great against the background. 120 years old and poses so nicely.
Yet another wonderful capture by you, going right into my faves.
"Soak up the sun
Affirm life's magic
Be graceful in the wind
Stand tall after a storm
Feel refreshed after it rains
Grow strong without notice
Be prepared for each season
Provide shelter to strangers
Hang tough through a cold spell
Emerge renewed at the first signs of spring
Stay deeply rooted while reaching for the sky
Be still long enough to
hear your own leaves rustling."

colors in the sky bring an eerie feeling to the shot. i like the effect! i think the tree centered really doesn't take anything away! i love it! (got any shots closer to the tree?)
