An excellent holiday was spent in a small Scottish village last year....The village bound on its northern side by a curve of heather clad hills and high pasture, and with open countryside, woods and cultivated land elsewhere......The village provided an excellent starting point for many fine walks in the surrounding countryside....Please enjoy.

This is so well composed, with the foreground - the line of trees to the left leading into and across the shot - echoing the shape of the mountain. I like the parallel diagonals and the division of earth and sky too, and as always the colours and light are spot on.

From a "correct" composition perspective, this is superb. I love the lines. In most respects, the colors are eye catching to say the least. The one thing that bothers me a little is the loss of detail in the dark trees. It's just a little too dark in the center foreground areas for me. But, who am I to squabble with The Master Of Light as I so fondly love to refer to you. Another master piece and a keeper.

What a pleasure for the eyes this is Mick. Such grandeur. It's like a layered cake. Each layer gets a little sweeter. The contrasting colors are awesome and the sheep seem to be sprinkled everywhere as if to add some seasoning to this pallete for the palet. Love it.

Seems to me that the Master Architect designed Scotland with a heaping portion of landscape beauty. No wonder you are often inspired to capture it in the most pleasing manner with exquisite artistry.

Mick, great lines and such good composure in this beautiful picture. Love the rich colours in this picture too, and no I haven't been to Scotland in answer to a previous question. I would love to go though, especially if I could get shots like this, brilliant work.

This is fantastic. I love the clouds in the sky, as well as the sheep on the ground. (I'm glad it's not the other way around.) Great colors bottom to top, front to back, side to side, in and out, through and through....OK, I'll stop. Just a great picture.

So much has been said and I can only add my praise for your work and admiration of this wonderful image. It is a top notch piece of work.

Our city of Dunedin was settled by the Scots and I can see why they felt so at home - some of the rolling hills countyside is very similar except we dont have those attractive hedgerows between the paddocks (sorry, fields :))

Scotland looks absolutely gorgeous on my notebook desktop. This is yet another treat for the eyes Mick. The farmland with it's vivid earthtones provides such a sharp contrast to the mountain and sky it almost looks as though there are two seperate images superimposed one upon the other. I tend to agree with Pat's comment about the loss of detail in the trees throughout the farmland ... a very minor point when considering the entire image. I might add you've captured a lovely sky blue in this posting. Bottom line my friend ... I'm in complete agreement with that C-index of 96 ... it's most deserved.
