This Image GRABBED my EYE. That's Why I Stopped By.
Thanks For Sharing ! Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience
Mick dear,
All the others before me said what should have been said about an image of such quality.
I am MOST intrigued by the the reddish glow in the fur and the relatively small size of the animal ...
Do you think it is possible that our European small red squirrels mate with their big grey cousins who displayed in any case great courage as they swam across the big lake=ocean ?!
I am very serious, Mick. This one does certainly look like a mixed kind and I think I am going to get the Nobel prize in biology, geography, sociology and medicine for this discovery !!!!!!
I feel almost certain now - I was in Washington DC in late March one year - and saw a policeman feeding a completely grey animal size of a rabbit and HE [after all police forces member=supposed to be trusted] told it was an American squirrel - this was the first time when I saw this giant squirrel.
Yes, am preparing to check the sexual and reproduction behaviour of them squirrels of both colours [regretfully - them grey big ones have not arrived yet to Poland ...] - so probably a trip to UK would be necessary and then next year only to Oslo to collect my Nobel prize ! YES.
Superb photo of the Squirrel, the clarity and details are really good,it is very cute, what kind of camera did you use? we have red Squirrels here but not grey Squirrels, the red Squirrels here are rather shy so it would not be possible to approach them.
I have two that come to my 5th floor balcony every day Mick. You did a wonderful job with this, his eye's bright, there's tons of lovely tone and detail in his coat, the background's beautifully blurred making him stand out perfectly.. Terrific shot.
My name is Emmy and I'm from Sweden. I'm 12 years old, and I'm not very good at english. :) My cats name are Snuffsan and Lina. My username is a crossing of the two catnames. :)
