Wow, this one has a lot of punch. The movement of the tree branches and the dark clouds really emphasize something dramatic is going on here. Great presentation, Eve.
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Winter? oh, right, you're in the southern himisphere... Very magestic scene. You can feel the power through the picture.
PS: where I live, it's 107 degrees F today! Enjoy the cool weather for me, would you?
Beautiful capture of a VERY menacing looking sky. I'll not rub my present good weather under your nose ... because what goes around ... sooner or later comes around. Great posting Eve.
You've done it again..blown me away...this is just plain AWESOME. And it was fun to open up my faves winter folder '07 and save it there. Just lovely, Ms Magiceve !!!
That is a whopper of a pretty picture. It's a keeper. What an awesome sky. I just can't fathom it being winter where you are when it was 97 here today. This is one of your best.

To answer Muggsy's query about the tree, is is a Cabbage tree, Cordyline australis, known as Tī kāuka or Tī rākau in the Māori language. In the past has had many uses, including as a food source.

A friend of mine works in a camera store. The other day a very
confused looking woman approached the counter and handed my friend
a camera. She said "I took pictures, but I forgot to have film in
the camera. Can you please get them out of the camera for me?"
Hi there..I guess I need to look thru your gallery, I never saw this fantastically dramatic photo!! How gorgeous and awesome!!!
As you know, I DO SO love dramatic skies and this is one the very BEST I've seen!! Oh my gosh...the colours, the moods, the wind, well, the whole scene is just filled with wonderment!!! The tree sure makes one feel the coldness, along with the distant mountain tops. My dear friend, this is an absolutely wonderful photo and I can well see why you got such a high c index on this masterpiece. COngrats and many hugs!! Verena
This is a cool pic, almost surreal. The tree is weel lit and in focus, and the depth is infinite. Good eye, and great shot. My only criticism might be with that fence in the foreground, but thats minor.
Hello Lyn...Dear me,what a beauty...The dark stormy clouds and the wind blowing in the tree has made me put my overcoat on to view this picture...Excellent....All the best....Mick.
Beautiful picture, very dramatic. How did you accomplish this picture? Was it heavily photoshopped? Id love to know roughly your technique. Beautiful work
