"Flowers seem intended for the solace of ordinary humanity." ~John Ruskin. . . . .More poppies from a stroll through our public gardens today. It was cold - more like winter than Spring, but the poppies seemed to have a warmth all of their own . . . Panasonic DMC-FZ7.. Thank you for taking a look.Any comments are most welcome and always appreciated.

Soft lovely shades and a lighting that seems to fall on the right places. Good presentation although I feel that you didn't have to make the frame black here.

The beer urges me on, the bewitching beer, which sets even a wise man to singing and to laughing gently and rouses him up to dance and brings forth words which were better unspoken. Homer (800 BC - 700 BC), The Odyssey (note: beer substituted for wine)

Another great shot. I like the framing and the framing on the last post (Dancing Poppies) was beautiful. Your framing is so great it's become the expected rather than the unexpected. Colors and lighting are gorgeous.

Lovely posting Eve. "Blushing indeed ... made all the more obvious with the lighting and dark background. Quite striking and very appealing to these old eyes. Not really a strong criticism here ... but I might have cropped this slightly larger in order to avoid cutting those lovely petals off top and bottom. Can you imagine ... Muggsy offering suggestions to LynEve about a flower photo ... sorta like Muggsy telling Donald Trump how to make a buck. :)

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

You do so much excellent work, Lyn, I can feel only a little clever that I guessed this was yours when it came up in the VB. You should know that when it sprang open in the larger size, I fell back in my chair, probably because the WOW that came out of my mouth left me breathless. The lighting, the detail, the composition, the tight square crop... yaddah, yaddah, tech detailyadda -- yeah, it all adds to why it's WOW, but there's silent, intense, undefinable art here, too. So to sum up: WOW.

P.S. It's an 11.

I can't let that be the end of the comments. I do like flowers. The colors, the complexity, the weird symmetries, the ecosystems that live within them. The sheer exuberance of life. All of it. This is a beautifully composed portrait you've created of some of that life. And sorry I was late to the party.
