Exceptional Lyn, like most of your flower photos! what I really like about this one is the pale softness which graduates from the frame towards the in-focus flower! very beautiful!

"I never looked for it, gave it no name; yet I knew it always, when the gift of peace came. I stood quite still for the moment that it lasted...Then the light shifted slightly and the moment passed, leaving me...with the lasting echo of its presence.." Diana Gabaldon
"The more we come in contact with animals, and observe their behaviour, the more we love them, for we see how great is their care for their young." - philosopher Immanuel Kant
You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being.

Several of my photos are available for purchase in larger format at Shutterpoint, and some are also available in high quality framed prints at http://djholmes.imagekind.com/
(*takes a black marker and obscures a line in Lyn's excuse book .. the line that reads .. "I don't know what I'm doing" .. considers some of the others, but leaves them, in case Lyn gets a hold of his own excuse book .. maybe she'll remember his kindness*)
to quote a famous, but poorly educated, anonymous person: .. It don't get no bettah than this
oh my Eve..I have no idea how I missed this when you posted it....except that maybe we had Christmas for a whole week here with kids and house guests etc..lol
OK, down to business....I have never heard of Christmas lilies and it is a shame because this is gorgeous!! The capture is sweet enough but then you did this drop-dead frame job that accentuates the softness and the deep throat of the lily....your taste is impeccable my friend. One day I am going to pick your brain clean of everything you know about shooting flower and then presenting them, at which time I will take over your spot here ...lol
Wonderfully done, beautifully presented and artistic as well. Right to my favorites it goes to bloom. Thank you for sharing this with me and hope your holiday were as beautiful as this image ;=)
