The Grand Staircase is in the mansion (c1877) at Werribee Park, Victoria, the largest private residence ever built in Australia. Taken with Panasonic DMC-FZ7.
I have removed my previous entry and replaced it with this.
hehe, it takes a few tries to finally find 'the one' best suited to enter in the contest doesn't it...I'd say this is 'your one'...very colorful and striking and all the more so with the presence of the 'negative space' to accentuate...and of course the subject matter itself lends a certain mystery to where it leads down to...good luck...hope it does well.
Majestic contest entry. I feel walking inside of Titanic. Best of luck with this fine shot. Anyway, what are those bubbles everywhere? I am just wondering.

Such beautiful and varied designs. The whole house must be quite something to see and apparently it is open to the public, unless it's your house or that of someone you know. lol This should do well, Eve, with the wonderful bubbles in the background and the huge spider on the rail. Good luck in the contest!
Lyn, I really liked this. Not only is it thought provoking, but your control of color, design, and clarity is exceptional too. Best wishes for you in the contest.
Always remember - Follow the Yellow Brick Road, it will lead you to the Emerald City and OZ A very nice place to be. Trust me on this one, I live there. The Lion **** MY CAEDES GALLERY****Another Site I'm AT - MY DA HOME PAGE
Yes, you can only imagine what the mansion looked like. The added touch of the caedes spider caught my attention right away when opened full view.
Good Luck Lyn
What an interesting shot this is! I had to go back and look for the spider lol. I love the angle you have taken this from, its an all round wonderful picture.
Wow! What a terrific image design. I like the addition of the bubble background. It works well with this staircase. I just now noticed the spider on the left. Cute addition. I have one suggestion. When you mirror an object, rotate it slightly if the patterns don't line up. The carpet patterns match at the bottom but separate towards the top. Overall a great job.

Anything that excites me for any reason, I will photograph; not searching for unusual subject matter, but making the commonplace unusual.

Fabulous shot, either as a contest entry or completely on its own! Wonderful up/down dynamic created through your perspective on this image. Very well done!
Better late than never I say!! This is so cool Lyn. The floating effect of the staircase within the bubbles is so surreal but way fun to view. Great piece:):)
