This is going to be very difficult to compete against in the contest Lynn but I will do my best to do just that:):) Simply noble, elegant and luscious!!
Perfectly timed and capture. Spectacular presentation against the contrasting background really showing off this marvelous tulip bud. Love all the water drops on it and the falling drop in mid air.
This is as you say "simple" but what a stunner.. love this one, the droplets are captured beautifully.. The frame is perfect for the image.. it gives it depth....

Several of you have mentioned the water droplet and I feel I must mention that it was not perfect timing on my part that captured it. Sadly my reflexes are not fast enough ! In fact, although all the drops on the flower are real, the droplet was added afterwards.
My original title for this image was Crying In The Rain. Each October my tulips flower and I am reminded of a loved one I lost at this time of year, who was very fond of these flowers. I photograph them every year, and this particular shot was in the rain. I blacked out the background in PSP with the burn tool and then added the droplet because I was crying and the tulip appeared to be as well. For me tulip and the water drops portrayed the simplicity of something with a hidden meaning because I knew that when the sun comes out it will open up and show its inner beauty which for me are the beautiful memories that are beneath the sadness.
My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

The reason why the sunsets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

Congrats on 1st place. It deserves it. Somehow, I missed commenting on this in the regular postings. The realism of this capture is amazing. I can actually smell the bloom. The water droplets are divine. KEEP-PAH!
