I was intrigued by this piece of driftwood and its shadow in the clear waters of Lake Hawea.
Hawea is a glacial lake and the smallest of the New Zealand's southern alpine lakes. It is 1,133 ft above sea level 1,285 ft deep and covers an area of 46 sq miles.
I can vouch for the water being cool - very cool - as I was in it to take this photo Brrr :)
Taken with Canon 450D using the EFS 17-85mm lens with a Circular Polarising filter.
