When the Waitaki River (Otago, New Zealand) is in full flow it cascades over these riverbed stones and it can be seen where it recently scoured out the bank exposing the tree roots. The main body of water is coursing along to the left, out of the shot. I liked this reflective scene in the left-over pond. I do not expect it will be liked by everyone as much as I like it and I realize it has quite a few faults but it will remain a favourite of mine and I hope someone may enjoy it also. I did some post work in Oloneo and PSP in an effort to make it look as I remember the scene, as the original photo is a bit insipid. Thanks for looking. Comments/opinions most welcome as always

I really like this one and can't imagine why others wouldn't. The oloneo program is an interesting one. My PC doesn't have a photo program except for (free) photo filtre which I have not learned. Maybe Oloneo is the program for me to try. Anyway, it seems to do interesting things with skies and colors.

I don't see much wrong with this shot, LynEve, and I can see why you like it. The golden trees and their reflections in the small pool are marvelous, and I love the composition. The light and shadows are very appealing, as well. Nice post-work.

Yeah, some shots hit our spot even when we can see their faults. I'm digging your groove on this one.

Remarkable shot - there's a lot of narrative going on in the image. I for one, like it.

Lyn - I find the lines in this image to be fascinating. The trees and reflection form a wedge that draws the eye left to right; the circular pond bisected by the reflection and surrounded by sweeps of brown and silvery-grey all make an interesting photo. Well done! Thad
