Another take with the Canon 60mm macro. At first I was going to abandon it as the focus seems off but then decided I quite like it like that :)
My hybrid tea Blue Moon is not a tidy rose, she drops her petals, she often looks bedraggled and her stems are floppy - but her scent is divine :)
The bit of yellow in the background is the yellow daisies I posted yesterday that she is sharing a bed with in a neglected area against our house wall. I deepened the colour a bit to make it more like her natural shade as she was looking a bit pale in this shot.

Sometimes, breaking the 'rules', whether intentionally or not, produces stunning images.
This is one such case, where the soft focus has emphasised the subtle colour of the flower to perfection.
