A day when all the colour was sucked out and replaced by greys.I have not desaturated this.
The rain poured, the wind howled and the seas crashed and there at the end of the breakwater was a lone fur seal reveling in the wild weather.

It doesn't seem to bother that seal either.

He is just having a shower - He probably knows that it is a bit risky jumping in.

How In the heck did you brave such weather for this shot Lyn? The seal sure makes the perfect bonus for this shot. tigs=^..^=

This is one of those images that just gets better the longer I study it, Lyn. The descending layers of land and sea, in visibility, have a rather magical and eerie feel to them, but that fur seal is the cherry on top of the sundae. When I was a kid I would wait for weeks for a summer hail storm and, hen one did arrive, I'd race across the back yard to our metal shed. Sitting up against a wall in there, it was a real trip to listen to the hail pounding on the walls an eighth of an inch away, mindless of the fact that tornados are often preceded by hail. Fur seals are more closely related to sea lions than actual seals, the length of a very tall man and reaching weights of nearly 500 pounds. It would take a heckuva bigger wave than this to push him off the jetty. He probably feels as safe there as I did in my shed. What a great shot. Thanks for this, Lyn, and your persistence. S&F.

Your comment is very well written, and the scene you have captured is riveting. I really love sunshine, but this is also a beautiful part of nature and you nailed it!

That's some pretty wild weather...the seal may have been as surprised to see you as you were to see him, lol...excellent capture especially under such miserable conditions and very timely catching this 'thrill seeker'...great work, Lyn.
