Hidden in a quiet corner of the gardens was this clump of tulips - the closest to black I have ever seen. I did not make a very good capture but thought it worth sharing for its gorgeous sheen and colour.
Lyn, I know that many tulip growers have done an attempt to cultivate a tulip into a real black one. As far as I know, no one was really successful. They have somewhat approached a black tulip by the tulip varieties 'Queen of the Night', the 'Black Parrot' and the 'Black Diamond'. Think this one is one of the closest achievable results too. A fascinating color, anyhow!
If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins!
