This is my Foofy Friday offering with best wishes for a very happy weekend. I have not been very active with a camera lately and have found some solace in 're-doing' older photos. This lilac is in my garden. My apologies for not being here very much for a while, I hope to improve on that. The past weeks have not been good and we have lost 3 loved people from our lives in a 3 week period, the most recent being just a week ago..

Today in New Zealand we have a new public holiday (today), celebrating Matariki, the Maori New year. Matatriki is the Maori name for the star cluster Pleiades, and signifies midwinter, the letting go of the past and its troubles and looking forward to the New Year which for me seems very appropriate. May I wish you all Happy Matariki !

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Lyn, first of all I wish you a Happy Matariki.

With regard to your narrative, as the years go by, the loss of loved ones is inevitable. I too am faced with the painful loss of friends and acquaintances who are often younger than me. It's always very poignant for people like you and me. Every loss of a loved one leaves a scar on the soul! Sorry for the recent losses.

Your Foofy Friday (F²) contribution is another wonderful one. The time it took to achieve such a subtle contribution is well spent. Very well done again!

I too understand your losses Lyn - it seems we all must go through that at some time in our life. The white lilacs are lovely - I wish I could smell their fragrance!
