My entry to the 'Weird Vegetation' contest. The observant amongst you, will notice that the image I have posted is of a fish and therefore can't possibly be classed as 'Weird Vegetation'. So, let me try and explain: - It is indeed a fish, well actually half a fish, the rest having been eating by a creature unknown... You would think that would be end of discussion, case closed - MJ has obviously been on the beer again! However, all isn't all that it seems... Some vegetarians eat fish, therefore to them fish must be seen as vegetation and as weird as it sounds, that is my justification for posting a photo of a half eaten fish in a 'Weird Vegetation' contest. PS. Does anyone know what type of fish it is? PPS. Does anyone know what might have half eaten it?

A creative entry for the contest, MJ. It certainly can't be a tuna fish because it's not in a can. Good luck!

Some kind of carp I believe. Maybe Gollum got at it.

I would guess a raccoon ate it, but a raccoon would hardly leave half behind...therefore, I think, it must have been a smaller animal, and the meal was too large! Either way, that carp has seen better days! lol Good one.

Thanks for the help in trying to identify both victim and culprit.
Looks like the poor fish was a Carp.
As for the predator, I don't think it's a Raccoon as this is the UK and we unfortunately don't have them (would be great if we did though). Gollum is a good possibility, as I've seen some of the locals at closing time in the nearby pubs and the resemblance is quite startling... :)
