Snapped this picture while away with friends travelling the west coast of Ireland a couple of months ago. It is a Megalithic structure that was build about 4 thousand years ago in the Burren. The Burren is what can only be described as a rock desert (as you can see from the ground around the structure) that stretched out around 50 square kilometers.

Amazing history this has! Wonderful capture of the rocky ground around it too...perfectly done!

In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1 John 4:10

I love to see a lump of sugar commit suicide in my teacup.

One cannot help but wonder what the second capstone (the one on the ground) is. Covering up an underground structure?

The actual site is called Poulnabrone Dolmen (though after 5 months in Ireland, I've still no idea how its pronounced!), and is indeed covering some sort of structure...an ancient burial ground. The slab up top ways something like 12 tons and to this day, no one can figure out how they got it up there some 5500 or more years ago.
