Here is a closer picture of the entrance to the house. Take a closer look at the window. The often had lead window bars and the glass was irregular and sometimes buckled. Canon 350D 1/80 sec. f/11.0 ISO 200 on 18mm. Thanks to all who view and comment. I really appreciate it.

What an inviting entrance Mariana and the window is especially interesting and appears so small. Very rustic with great composition and clarity. Nicely done. Thanks.

This place really has a lot of character. I like both your shots today, but this one is by far the better of the two. It is just so inviting and quaint. The composition is really nice with the door slightly off center and the cute little window on the left. Nice work.

I love the windows. They kept them smallish I guess. And there is a bit of ornamentation in the woodworking. So nice. Do you know what kind of wood it is made from, Mariana?

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Putting your pictures in my favorites is the highest honor I can give you. If I do not get to your pictures as soon as you post them, I apologize. I try. Also if I do not respond for awhile it doesn't mean I'm ignoring you, it just means I'm really tied up with life.

I liked it so much I gave it a nine in the voting booth. I think the little trees on the side got to me..can't tell you exactly why I thought it was so good, I just did :)

Such wonderful detail in this Mariana - the wood looks so mellow and aged, which of course it is. A very well composed capture and nice to know the story behind it.
