Thanks for sharing this scene from the Rendezvous. It is a very impressive photo. I've never been to the event, hopefully next year. Very nice!

An amazing spread of crepuscular rays, Paul, I don't think I've seen them cover pretty much an entire in-frame sky. Fort Atkinson, huh? We have one here in North Dakota but it's a historic site of which 90% or more has been agriculturalized out of existence. From your other previous submission, "Boom", and the stone structures I see on the left in this one, yours has a lot more to it. Rendezvous are great opportunities for photos, so we should be seeing more cool images, right?

If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.

Beautiful sky, offering much promise in the next day for this little community.

A camera didn't make a great picture anymore than a typewriter wrote a great novel. (Peter Adams)

You are correct in the perception of the "Fort"
It is reasonably intact with 4 primary structures remaining, there are the foundations of several other buildings that were dismantled for the quarried limestone, many of the older houses including mine have basement walls constructed with the stone slabs from the fort, it is the last surviving fort in Iowa, we are continuously working on trying to preserve and potentially renovate parts, as you know it will always be a funding consideration.
