The crash site north of Clear Lake Iowa, February 3, 1959, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper (J.P. Richardson, Jr.) and the Pilot Roger Peterson died in a plane crash at this location.

I remember so well "The Day the Music Died." I was just coming into my prime and was a Buddy Holly fan.
Waylon Jennings gave up his seat to The Big Bopper or he would have died as well.

I went on Google Earth and drove around the area for a bit. Thanks for sharing this, although I'm older, I didn't know what the plane had crashed.
