We got some fine weather yesterday so I got to try out my extension tubes again in my lunch break.

This ladybird was having a wander around, but stopped still long enough to pose for this shot.

This was taken hand-held in natural light, with the D40 kit lens at 55mm with 35mm of extension - the largest tube on its own. 1/50 @ F14, ISO 200 with -0.7 stops exposure correction.

The image has been flipped, reduced and cropped (horizontal only) for upload. No other edits.

Boy you have very steady hands Jonathon. You have very good detail in this shot and great color and composition...gerry

I have reasonably steady hands and nearly 3 fps continuous shooting mode :). Took about 10 and picked the sharpest.

It's a great technique that can free you from the restrictions of a tripod in some conditions.

Awww that poor little lady bug looks really cold. I love this picture because you can sorta feel the emotion of the little bug. I think he is huddled up and cold. any way thats me and im probabily crazy so disregard all that if you want. Great capture Morat!

I can even see her antennae. Superior texture and lighting in this image. A job well done Morat.
