Out the back of my suburb were these fields and gentle hills. The hills are still there but they've been buried under new roads and empty dirt lots waiting for shiny new houses. So it is that beautiful country becomes just another 'burb. It's a process we take for granted but it can't continue indefinitely. Photographers, still and moving, have a role in capturing what might be lost and offering these reminders back to ourselves and others in the future. Perhaps the reminders of beauty lost will motivate toward the preservation of beauty still untouched.

Enjoy.

Mikel.

Very nice landscape!! Where I grew up was nothing but woods, but is now a housing development. It's sad to see places like this is gone.

I really enjoy the contrasts. The foreground is could be one of yours on it's own. : ) Very nice perspective leading up to that fabulous two toned sky.

I have the same thing going on behind my house...Too bad it isn't this beautiful. Love the golden tones and the deep contrasts. You have a style that is all your own that I can pick out in a crowd. Wonderful piece of work.

Beautiful shot. I like the differences in colors here and the rolling effect of the terrain. Not everyone takes the raping of the land for granted. Luckily, we have land trusts and preservation societies that will help keep some of the lands natural.

Mikel, very well said. this is truly a sad situation.. nature destroyed every day... covered in asphalt.. this is an excellent and very visually appealing photo.. nice work all around.
