I don't know about you but I've spent a fair bit of time over the years sitting with my feet dangling over the edge of a jetty (Quay) being drawn into a semi-trance state by the play of sunlight over the contours of the water surface. I regularly try to capture that moment, I think this is one of my more satisfying results.

Good rendition, Mikel. I think the amount of noise/grain adversely affects the degree of difference between the dark and the highlights.

Can't say that I've done much sitting on the jetty, but I do know that that water, in its myriad forms can be hypnotic when it is moving. That is why I love the sound, smell and look of ocean waves. This image gives me a sense of calm as well.

A beautiful and very soothing image, Mikel. The surface of the water has the look of molten gold as it catches the light. I also like the two pilings, which give the eye something to latch onto. Very nice!
