During each visit to my granddaughters and my brother (different places) in Mississippi, a handful of miles from the Gulf Coast, I keep running into these quick little lizards. On one trip I got a decent shot of one at the Audubon Zoo. On this last trip, in March, I got a lot closer to one on my son's porch, this little lady. The missing red dewlap and a black spot between the eye and the earhole, indicative of a male, tells me this is a female. What really drew me to her, though, are the gorgeous blue-green scales around her eyes. At about five to six inches long, they are very fast, but don't mind hanging out with humans... as long as we make no sudden moves. This will be my entry in the panorama contest. 7
