Paul I take it that this was taken at great risk to your health, as these animals are known for their aggressive tendencies. But as we are seeing this I am assuming that you came to no harm.
All kidding aside, I really like this image. It isn't often we are presented with as good a photo opportunity as this. Luckily for us you had your camera with you.
What a wonderful capture Paul. I live in the country and have never been able to see anything like this. I commend you for being able to 1) Taking this exquisite photo without waking it and 2) Showing us a side of nature that most of us will never experience for ourselves, Definitely going into my favorites and this little guy will sleep on my screensaver indefinitely. Thank you Paul. It has been a true pleasure to view this.
** For the next few weeks, I will not be Commenting as much as I should, I Will be looking at ALL of your Picture posts...I apologise from the bottom of my heart for this...Things should be back to 'normal' after the holiday period**
The emotions, the tears, of wasted years, wash over me like a cold wind out of the north. I tremble and shake, with each breath i take, and there's no one around me that cares. Dwight.
Lawd have mercy. that is cute. Fantastic capture. That is one relaxed coon. The detail in the fur and face is superb. It doesn't look like he has spotted you having spotted him. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat work.

Wow Paul, this is quite a capture! To get this type of image, this guy must have been quite tired or you must have been extremely quiet!!! I have these critters on my deck all the time. They look in the glass doors at my cats who are howling to get out & 'fight' the enemy! hehe
Really cool capture of this raccoon. One that not many of us will be able to boast having taken nor having seen except in a magazine. Well done my friend. Thank you for sharing your buddy with us :~)
Nicely photograph of these sleeping Raccoon, they seem be rather maliciously (say them) but I have seen them busy in the zoo but I have seen them busy in the zoo.
Hi Paul, what a darling little fella, another great photo form an expert! You know Paul, this little guy's idea of comfort is very different from ours! He doesn't need a "spleep no. bed", he really knows how to live, the simple way! This is a good photo and done very well my dear friend! Keep those gorgeous images coming our way, and by the way, I for one, will never tire of viewing all of Holland! I loved those images, so please continue to share with us! Thank you Paul! Sincerely, Marilyn
This is one lovely and adorable picture.
Wish i could be right there to see it myself, it looks so soft and sweet sleeping up there in the trees.
Thanks for sharing!! Definitely going to my favorites!

What a great capture! Catching a raccoon sleeping must have been difficult. They're alot cuter sleeping than going through my garden or my trash! Clever little devils. Judy
I get these in my backyard .. my dog chases them around .. one time they unscrewed the top of a 'sun-tea' jar that we inadvertently left out over night
What a find!!! I get them in my yard at dusk. We put leftovers out for them away from the house. This keeps them out of the garbage cans! Fantastic shot. A Keeper.

A definite 10 from me.
