Bright colorful image with lots of detail. I have trouble capturing them with the wing spread out. Good job.

Paul, your photo is beautifully composed and with the varying purples, it's very striking. I'm always in awe of your talent! - Patty

Paul, great use of the color pallette!! Love the colors in this one. I also REALLY like that you were able to get in close enough to fill up the frame with the subject. I try not to give too many 10's lest the outstanding no longer stand out, but this one got a 10 from me.

Lovely image Paul. Nice and close. You shot at right moment on this picture. Butterflies are marvelous to photograph. The trick is, as you know, not to move too quickly. You camera is nice and your focus is real good. My problem is I shake some. So I would be greatly enhanced by the use of some of the newer cameras anti-shake technology.

Excellent, Excellent job. A ten from me too, but it would be an 11 if there wasn't that unsightly wear and tear on the leaf to the right, but I'm just jealous. This is extraordinary :)PJ

What a gorgeous little snippet of nature, preciously beautiful and delicate. Another amazing photo, Paul. Here in Northern Illinois we are blessed with a plethora of dragonflys and buterrflies, but with shaky hands, poor eyesight, slow reflexes, and sore bones, my philosophy is; If it moves, don't even try to photograph it...Neil

She is a Painted Lady and well named. The chrysalis she emerged from would also ornament such a lady, it is of ivory, green and gold. All this from a spiny black caterpillar feeding on stinging nettles! A very nice picture of one of my favourites which, sadly, I have not seen in the wild for many years.
