How lovely it is when unexpected blessings come into my life to cheer me up and put a smile into my heart. Help me to pass them on, dear Lord. Fay Angus
This is such a magical scene! Amazing night capture Paul. It looks great as a desk top!
I think Cindy is right about the name of this castle. She's really good at this!
YES! You are right Cindy!
You win the first price; a weekend in the royal suite of Chambord (with me!).
And since that royal suite is empty, you can stay in my tent on the campsite of Chambord!
Congratulation!
Paul
Okay...this seems to be history lesson night, so I looked it up and came up with a few quoted historical remarks that I'll copy in here if anyone is interested:
"Chambord was never a place for living. Upkeep, and especially heating, was so difficult that the Kings of France and its different owners only came in the summer, to hunt or for large receptions.
The pillages of the Revolution and the long periods during which the chateau was abandoned help explain why there is little furniture in it today. What makes this chateau remarkable is the flamboyance of its architecture."
So it looks as if you might have to camp outside after all, if they took the beds too..Most interesting and beautifully captured post and I enjoyed learning about something of which aforehand I knew nothing...let me see if I can get that link.....
Look Here
It's French and those very fat towers indicate to me that it is Chateau de Chambord. The French, God love'm do have the most beautiful castles. My full name of course is Pierre Michel Plantec...It's Breton
I think it has a pretty nice glow and look to it, I really like the concept. I don't know if you realized this, or maybe you did it intentionally...but you spelled "ghost" wrong...Great post.
