I am often asked what camera, lenses, etc, I use. Maybe it helps when (for once?) I give you the whole lot. No problem really, since the shooting info can be copy/pasted easily: Camera Model Canon EOS 400D DIGITAL Shooting Date/Time 28-04-2007 15:40:53 Shooting Mode Program AE Tv( Shutter Speed ) 1/640 Av( Aperture Value ) 8.0 Metering Mode Evaluative Metering Exposure Compensation -1 ISO Speed 200 Lens EF70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Focal Length 300.0 mm Image Size 3888x2592 Image Quality RAW Flash Off White Balance Mode Auto AF Mode One-Shot AF Picture Style Neutral Sharpness 5 Contrast 0 Saturation 2 Color tone 0 Color Space sRGB Noise Reduction Off File Size 8912 KB Custom Function C.Fn:01-0 C.Fn:02-2 C.Fn:03-0 C.Fn:04-0 C.Fn:05-0 C.Fn:06-0 C.Fn:07-0 C.Fn:08-0 C.Fn:09-0

What a detail in the picture Paul, marvellous again. Maybe even better if you had cropped the part with the black background? Or changed the lower background? And like you mentioned with my first upload, the crane:

Little fella looks like he has a battle scar. I understood most of what you said above until I got to the last of it with the custom functions. Have to check that out. I do have a question though. Do you always have to use a tripod with the 70-300mm lens?

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Thanks!
Cynlee, you don't have to use a tripod, the Canon EF 70-300 mm has a type II image stabilizer, which works in all directions. Of course it also depends how much light there is and how stable you are, but generally it works just fine.

This shot is so exceptional I expect to see his body move in and out with his breathing. You have great equipment, but you also have the skill to use it. Thanks for sharing, Paul.

Splendid focus on this little fella. Excellent composing, clarity and details. Like seeing his two toned fur coat and his alert black eye. He's posing beautifully for you Paul, and has a sweet expression. The background blends well with his colouring. I gave him the high vote in the V/B. Appreciate your sharing this cutie :)
