The Haslital, one of the large valleys in the central alps, stretches from the Grimsel Pass to the Lake of Brienz. The flat valley floor of the lower Haslital is separated from the upper valley by a transverse rock formation. This rock formation called the "Kirchet" lies between Meiringen and Innertkirchen. Over thousands of years, the Aare River eroded a path through this rock formation resulting in a gorge which is 1’400 metres long and up to 180 metres deep. This gorge has been accessible for over 100 years by a system of safe paths and tunnels. The walk through the gorge is a very special way to experience nature.

Oh my, what a startlingly beautiful place! Here I am thinking too, how did the workmen build those wall bridges into the cliff, but it is great that it was done so all could take advantage of this amazing landmark gorge. Thank you, Paul for taking this shot for us too.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

I just love how you captured the movement of the water here. SO often people let the water "blur" and you didn't do that, I like this so much better. And the massive drama of those huge rock formations..wow..you did a gorgeous job on this shot. V
