I don't think I've seen a clearer photograph, anywhere, in any publication, of my country's national bird. Every other shot I've seen includes the darker feathers of the body but this closeup truly shows this bird's awesome presence of being, it's strength and determination. Not all Americans believe the bald eagle was the right choice for our national bird, but I think the folks who chose it had this image in mind. I'm assuming this is done with your 100mm Macro? The individual spines of the tiny feathers on his face pop right out at me. Faved for certain, and thank you for sharing it with us.
