Shot this during a bird show in Saarburg with my EF 300mm lens at Tv 1/16000s, ISO2000, Av10. If you are interested what eagles are able to kill and you have strong stomach then watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XafAdkZIYKA Enjoy the show!

You've really frozen the Bald Eagles flight well Paul, there's not a hint of blur on the birds wings. I looked at the Youtube upload, and was amazed that this bird can kill a Mountain Goat!

Superb shot, Paul. Never saw them that close to the ground. I can understand you not wanting to disturb nature, though I did find the numerous white specks and a few of the circles of confusion somewhat distracting.
Just happened that many nicely circled the eagle.

Wow what a beautiful close up shot and stunning detail, and it looks like you took the shot in the wild open fields not a bird show. Thanks to for the history behind this photo too.

Such an amazing shot. I love how clear of a shot this is, as well as how the wings slowly curve, leading you gently through the image.

Truely a stunning capture. IMO the composition is outstanding. The highlighted insects impart the sense of a warm spring day in the wild. Wing positioning and clarity is perfect. I find the ISO of 2000 very intriguing...I do not detect any noise! I have to do some experimentation with higher ISO settings in my own work.
Very impressive Paul!
