All about line; a subtle piece with a retro flaovor (1950s)........I also appreciate the contrast between soft colour palette and strength of lines.....an intriguing work.....recalls Duchamps art which stressed the supposed (meaningfulness?) of the ordinarry and the apparent beauty of the utilitarian......
I like the contrast in colors as Jason put it "it gives it a deco fell". The angle of the shot is almost perfect I may have gotten a little closer to the floor to capture more of the cool greens. The color contrasts and clarity of the shot is great. Experiment with shooting some at a lower to the ground level and see if you like how it turns out. Hey I took 20 pictures in raw mode yesterday of trees just trying to get used to my new camera and experiment with raw mode. All in all I am a fan of photos of old stuff and this looks like an old parking garage. I like it a lot. dado
the composition's deceptively good..in other words, one needs to really look to appreciate it. unfortunately, thats not going to happen much at a site like this. i see where you were going with this, but visually it's a bit too barren. perhaps if the perspective were a little tighter, and if you're looking for a retro look, try getting someone to leave a coaster (no gears)bike there. that would fill it in, and give you a nice focal point, while keeping the original flavor of your work
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.
MY GALLERY
It's got a nice, artsy feel to it, which I like - I find my eyes drawn to the bike bars and where the wall meets the sidewalk. However, the purple of the windows seems too in the negative and out of place in the image.
This is my second least popular image - only 15 downloads - and yet it provokes the most interesting comments of anything I have done. It is deliberately arty and somewhat out of keeping with the typical Caedes pictures but there's something about it...
