I took this photo while in Bird-In-Hand, Pennsylvania. This area is known for it's large Amish community. I was able to take this photo as we were driving through the countryside. I had to take the photo quick being that the Amish aren't fond of being photographed.

Wow... a five mule hitch! I have never seen that before, either in photographs or real life. I wonder if the two on the outside are in training as it doesn't seem like they can be pulling any weight. Looks like that farmer has a good crop this year; I wonder if that is alfalfa. Lovely scene...so reminiscent of 100 years ago.

Fascinating look into another world. Wonderful details, and colors especially considering the rush factor. I love the trees and the hill, but in this case I think cropping them out would bring the focus in more on the scene at hand. Thank you for sharing it!

I would like to say thanks very much for taking this photo as it is very unique. When my daughter saw this she believed it was a photo from many years ago. She was not aware that people still lived this life trapped in time. This is outstanding photograph which we would only see in films in the uk. Well done thank you for sharing 10/10

Wonderful capture of these hard working folks. We have a lot of Amish families in our part of Iowa also and they harvest the same way. I love their simple way of life. Splendid shot here.

Wonderful shot. They feel that photos are graven images and that the Bible tells one not to have graven images of oneself. They are not as strict regarding this as they used to be. The Amish are wonderful people. I used to buy my bridles and other tack from an Amish fellow when I lived in Ohio.
