This is a rework of a photo I submitted a few weeks back. Great Blue at Sunrise It was suggested that I make a few changes to enhance the photo. I cropped it tighter around the island, I lightened the two areas top right and left and completely readjusted the color throughout. My only problem with this one is by trying to keep the same aspects I've lost part of the reflection of the heron. If you get a chance please check out the original. All critical feedback is appreciated.
Just looked at this one's previous creative incarnation, a side-by-side comparison, if you will ... and your tightening the shot up has definitely made an improvement. (Pierre gave you some good good advice and your followup is to be commended.)
The slight loss of some of the heron's reflection is not even noticeable to my eyes.
Albeit a nice visual touch in the original, found my eyes kind of wavering/looking around (not to any great degree, mind you).
With your presentation of this one to us, depth is seemingly enhanced ... as well as, and more importantly ... that of your focal subject.
Simply put, better balance now within frame.
Colours?
Take the following with a grain of salt, as I believe I need to re-calibrate my own monitor once more ...
Magentas and to a lesser extent, blues/cyans seem a tad prominent?
Again, in short ... sunrise = warmer colours ... to my mind. (And again, not to a large extent on the point preceding the above.)
That nonsense and drivel of mine aside ... very nice shot and rework. And but of course, thank you for sharing this one with us. :o)
