This was our view from our hotel room. It was my first time in Hong Kong and I was surprised at how many tall, narrow apartment buildings they seem to prefer.
A great view, Jeff, although I would not want to live in the city in one of these buildings. Tall buildings like this seem to sway in high winds, although I am told it is my imagination.
A very interesting view of life in Hong Kong with the various living spaces stacked together. So many stories to be told in those windows. Well done and good luck in the contest.
A horrible thought, but I'm imagining what damage an earthquake would do here. Or a fire. It's a fascinating view Jeff, one that allows us to absorb it at our leisure but remain living just a few feet off the ground... safely. All this concrete also lends itself well to black & white treatment. Good luck in the contest.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
Nik, Earthquakes were the first thing I thought of as well when I saw the buildings. After all there was a huge earthquake not long ago just a few hours south of Hong Kong in Indonesia. Must be more stable in Hong Kong, but I wouldn't trust it. I like Indonesia's rule of no building taller than a palm tree better.
