Nice catch, Jeff! Lunar moths are big, beautiful, and very cool, aren't they?

I rescued a pair that got trapped in my screened in back porch last year. Neither were quick to fly away, once outside. They sat on my hand, turning to look at me with their big eyes, seemingly as curious about me as I was about them. There was a lot of sentience in those eyes.

Beautiful capture of its details and bold coloration. Moreover, kudos for having the wherewithal to think to grab a camera, record your encounter with this remarkable beastie, and share it with us.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

With a wingspan of up to 5", these are magnificent and beautiful critters. I've not yet been lucky enough to stare one down, face-to-face, but in the meantime I have this one as an example.
