Another couple, my wife and I all took a vacation up in southern Minnesota last month. It was a bit too early for fall color, but it was the only time we had available. We stopped along a river because the hills were coloring up well. I went across the road to get a better framing and when I turned back, I saw the rest with their cellphones out snapping pictures. As I looked in the direction they were photographing, I realized there was a bald eagle over the river. I quickly went back to the car, got out my camera with the zoom lens and joined them to take a few pictures. "What are you taking a picture of?" asked the wife of the other couple. "Why, that bald eagle you had spotted," I replied. "What bald eagle!" None of them had noticed the eagle in the middle of their pictures of the river and the hills.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Funny story and great photo Jeff. I like shots like this where it pictures them in their environment. It doesn't have to be a closeup to be good.

People are like cameras--sometimes they lose focus.

Jeff, I've the same experience.
From time to time I give a photo presentation for mainly elderly people. To make it attractive to them, I show pictures of an environment known to them. To the question: "Where did you take this?" my answer is often: "Close to where you live." Their response is then usually: "I've never noticed this".
I suppose that our photography-trained eyes are responsible for that, ☺ .
Beautiful capture.
