Shortly after seeing a beaver, there was a blue jay making a huge ruckus just off the path I was walking. It seems it wanted in on some of the mouse that a Cooper's Hawk had caught. The amazing thing is the hawk as at eye-level, just ten feet from me. The reddish glow is due to the setting sun.

Very good action photo of the hawk in natural surroundings.

You must have been very quiet to get this close to the hawk Jeff.
Maybe its mind was on dinner.
Excellent timing and wonderful shot.

He was definitely more interested in eating and keeping the blue jay at bay.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
