I think this is a red-tailed hawk. Seen at Chalco Hills in Nebraska.

Every time I see one floating up there, up high, I remember Robert Redford in "Jeremiah Johnson" (1972), telling Caleb the mute boy, "Hawk. Goin' for the Musselshell. Take me a week's ridin', and he'll be there in... hell, he's there already." Nice one, Jeff.
