---When a tree falls in the Forest, why aren't I there to hear it?---
Paul, if I approach your question mathematically (probability calculation) the answer is very simple: a tree only falls once during its life. Falling over is only a matter of seconds. During its life, the tree receives only a fleeting visit from you. The chance that you actually experience the tipping over is less than one in ten million. However, I think you didn't mean your narrative statistically, but philosophically and emotionally. I agree and in this respect you have provided us with a very nice and appropriate photograph!
If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins!

Paul, you may have been somewhere else that needed your presence more. You can only do or be what is possible at any given moment. Which means sometimes you will be with those who are falling and need you and sometimes circumstances may be prevent it. Being there as the "tree" falls or not being there does not diminish your love and concern for the tree. That is what you and tree both know and understand.
I live in a forest...I do not want to be hearing that cracking sound of tree limbs and fallen trees. It happens sometimes and hoping they fall the right way. There have been close calls. Your image looks great, Paul, and probably a sight lot better than my forest.
