This photo was taken by me during a visit to the airport with a group of pensioners :) when they showed us around the airport. No manipulation. It was just a coincidence that I got this shot. The fire was put out by the fire brigade immediately.

My entry for the contest.

Oh, well, just lucky ...
Hmmm... some guys have all the fires and other accidents to photograph while poor me... Oh, well. I have an idea, will try some little arson meself maybe... And stay hidden in the vicinity. LOL
Good to know the fire was put out at once and no harm was done, you culprit you !!!
Seriously for once today - this is a superb entry - detail is best factography a journalist can dream of - hot air can be seen above the fire ! The contest looks most more and more promising!

The epitome of photo journalism, Raj. Great color (under overcast skies), focus, capture of the heat waves, and timing. As a former firefighter I have a strong appreciation for such images. There's some grain because of the lack of sun but I think that adds a grittiness of reality to the shot. Thanks for sharing it with us and good luck in the contest (which you don't actually need—you nailed it!). -Nik
