Here is another picture of the same sunset on Thanksgiving Day 2006 at the Colorado River at Picacho State Park. It's amazing how different this sunset looked moment by moment as it continued to turn into nightfall.

It is amazing. For future reference, Arizona's Picacho Peak State Park is about 40 miles north of Tucson on I-10, putting it about 200 miles by road from the Colorado River at Yuma. No water there, but in 1862 it was the site of the western-most battle of the Civil War.

If it's to be, it's up to me.
I actually had a chance two years ago to drive past the Picacho Peak State Park in AZ on the way back from the Carlsbad Caverns, and I was amazed at the resemblance to the Pichacho Peak at Pichacho State Park. Thanks for the history on the site, I didn't know that. Very cool. :) It's amazing how two sites can look so similar.
