What's before a good goose? In this case, the photographer! Thanks to Steve (beansbond) for providing this base image for my use. I was ever so struck with these to geese and glad that it was Steve who was in striking distance, not me! Please see Steve's wonderful gallery here .

Sorry folks, I ended up finding an artifact in the image that I was unhappy with, punted the last posting and resubmitted. Apologies to Steve as this was my error, the image received from him was primo.

What did I miss? lol Okay, take this 10 instead you two! Again, they are quite the pair. The photo is a hoot, clear one at that, and the gradient framing is most complimentary with the shiny textured, surprisingly clean floor.

I like this one much better! They look like two old men walking in Central Park discussing the issues of the day.

Excellent photo and framing . The ice (..or the floor?) is such a perfect background ! And the geese are agressive as always...(I have some experience of that...!) Itดs a double-10 !

Three Swedish translated sayings about gesse: "Itดs like pouring water on the back of a goose" (= ..a pretty hopeless thing to do) "Silly as a goose" (!) and "Wonderful weather for geese" (= dreadful weather !)

Believe it or not, the background is just wet, Oregon pavement! The nuclear plant has quite a network of paths and ponds. The plant has been shut down for some years now, and those areas aren't well maintained anymore. In a way, that's good. Wildlife is taking over, and photo opportunities abound. Also, my thanks to Rob for doing such a beautiful presentation of the photograph. It quite literary was taken "on the run!" :)

A really great shot, love the contrast of the blue/grey tarmac and the bright orange beaks and feet.

Not a big fan of frames though...

The only thing worse than looking at a mad goose in the eye, is having to look at two mad geese in the eye. You are fortunate to still be in one piece. Brave photographer. Outstanding captuure of the geese. How those orange feet show up. How you got this so clear with the geese coming at you, I cannot figure out. Excellent work.

Well you & Steve, did a fine job! I saw this and immediately saved it. These two look alittle peeved and out to nip someone! Nice detail with their feathers-beautiful colors & texture.Love the color coordinated orange bills/beaks & feet. Pleasing frame and the background blue. Terrific job. More please :))

This piece perfectly captures the character of most geese I've had the displeasure to meet. The wet asphalt (or whatever that surface is) is a excellent contrast to the soft colring in the birds' feathers in that it is mostly coarse and monchromatic while the birds are certainly not. Overall a very good example of quality composition for amateur photographers.
