Teddy Bear Cholla. A plant standing from 1-5' tall that you would do well not to hug. Nasty spines which can cause painful slow healing wounds if the barbs become embedded in the skin. As the spines are barbed they have a nasty habit of continually working their way into the skin.

Teddy Bear Cholla??!! Ouch is all I can say...a sweet name for what sounds like a very mean plant..but there must be a reason it doesnt want to be "picked" I wonder if its edible?? I love your postings! They are soooooo unique! YOu put a lot into them thats for sure...I love the sunlight playing with the shadows here too. Very very nice!! When were you in Arizona last to get this shot? Or is it taken somewhere else? Tell us more ok?? And I got to do the first comment...yayyyyyyyy! Hugs to YOU(and NOT the cactus!)..verena

Well, since Verena has it all covered (excuse the pun) I think I'll just say you've done a fine job here, Rob and the clarity is unbelieveable.

Verena .. just looking for clarification, you wrote: "I love your postings! They are sooooo unique". Sounds like something you'd say to a parent with a ugly baby! "your baby is sooo unique!" *wink*

I was in AZ last week...this shot was taken in Tucson. Following your style, I took it from my car!

Thanks folks, for your kind comments.
