Hi Rob...good to see you posting...I wonder...what difference there is between ravens and crows...are they smaller?...and are they as noisy?...just the other day I went out the door and first thing I saw was a large crow on the lawn and quite close to me...unfortunately I did not have a camera on hand...anyhow, this is a wonderful close capture and I agree, it's a very attractive and striking bird...thanks for sharing this one.
Kudos! These guys are usually (in my limited experience with them) quite skittish, and are usually out of range before I get close enough to snap away. Excellent details on the feathers. Do you suppose a little bit of work in Curves might reduce those hot spots?
Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.
Hey Rob .. thanks for your comment on this image. Here's the background. The shot was taken while on a trip with Quiet in Alberta Canada. We were on the highway on the way to the Glacial Ice Fields north of Banff. Every few miles (kms) there were road-site lots providing parking for stellar vistas. At EACH of these spots there were a pair or ravens. They were anything but skittish and provided good fodder for the lens.
Correct suggestion on the Curves. I really spend little time on my photo's short of cropping and gross edits. Thanks for the feedback (and always!)
