Perfect timing. My eyes were so tired as I was trying to catch up with images tonight. This is a wonderful one to drop right onto my desktop and call it a night on. Super soothing. Well done Sam and goodnight.

The gull was sort of flying all over the place as I recall. I took several shots with it in different positions, this was the one I preferred.

such a peaceful shot, it's wonderful.. although, it wouldn't be brilliant as it is without the gull ;) it adds a special spirit to this image.. what to say - you were there in the right time :) the gull also makes a great contrast agains the yellow and orange shades of the sky...
i like the closed composition as well, the horizontal axes certainly form a beautiful image. and the whole image itself is one big contrast - the upper lighter part agains the darker lower one.. oh, contrasts all around.. and your beautiful images as well ;) thanks for sharing them! :)

I could tell I'd like this shot even before I saw it full size. I love how simple it is: the bird silhouetted against the bright sky. Very calming and soothing. The title is perfect.

Hello Sam....Patience is key to getting great sunrises and sunsets. Walk down to the beach, snap a couple of quick pics, and you might get a good shot - depending on your luck. But your patience has been rewarded.....Well done...All the best...Mick.
