Looks like a fun game they are playing. I really like how you have caught motion in this....so full of action! Very well composed and excellent job Simon:-)
Thank you all for your comments, and Mayne, thanks for the countdown of how little time there is left to prepare for Christmas - I really must start thinking about it soon.... ;-).
I really love the way this one captures the presence of the moment. It's so much life and playfulness in this shot. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. ^_^
You think these wild hounds are playing?! What is it with you people, you can clearly see that those are the twisted organs of a small child, that these two dogs ripped to shreds on the beach. And instead of helping thier child, this family simply clicked away. Such sick people. Look at the picture again, would those dogs be so happy if they didn't just eat your kid? Exactly.
At times life is wicked and I just can't see the light, a silver lining sometimes isn't enough to make some wrongs seem right, whatever life brings, I've been through everything, and now I'm on my knees again but I know I must go on, although I hurt I must be strong, because inside I know that many feel this way... ~Creed~
Border collies? My baby, all 123 pounds of her, is part border collie and part golden retriever. This is a great shot. You really captured the spirit of these two beautiful dogs. Nice shot. 10/10
Thanks to almost all of you for your kind comments ;-) 123 lbs is a lot of dog, Sally - these two are pure border collies and together only total around half that, although they've still got a bit of growing to do as they're only eight months old...
Thank you, Ben and Damian. Yes, I was pleased with this one, and I expect my wife was pleased too when I said she could stop throwing the dogs' toy into the shallow stream on the beach because I'd got enough shots and one of them must have come out right ;-)
Once again, thank you all. This is one of my personal favourites because they're my dogs, but I'm delighted it's appreciated by people who aren't quite as biased as me... :-)
Precious pups. Guess they are yours? Great action shot. I hope you framed that one and hung it on your wall and a copy in their doghouse. Well done.
Pat
You know borders aren't really dogs; they're furry little people. My fourteenth Border Collie is now waiting for 5:20 when I get home from work. I'm planning to use this image to talk my wife into getting a second one. Thanks for submitting it.
The favorite button didn't exist when I last saw and commented on this terrific photo (I'm a dyed-in-the-wool border collie fanatic -- have had many of them in my life), so I'm delighted to be able to add it to my favorites file. It's been in my desktop pictures folder for a long time. The angle and position are great, allowing the reflection in the wet sand to be fully revealed, and the action is pure border. I throw sticks in the river for my two (brother and sister) to retrieve and it often ends up being a tug-of-war all the way back to me. A photo of pure joy.
